Seasons change, and so does life.-Growing up in Miami, you don't really have the opportunity to experience changing seasons. It is summer 365 days out of the year.I experienced my first year of changing seasons in Colorado, but the truth is, Colorado only experiences three seasons: unbearable winters, beautiful summers and mud seasons. Then I moved to Georgia, and I finally experienced all four seasons. A hot, humid summer. A beautiful autumn with leaves that change to beautiful burnt oranges, and dark reds, and bright yellows. Then a cold and long winter, which then changes to my favorite time of the year: Spring. Flowers blooming, warm and sunny days, and new life. Oh, and baseball.-When we hear the word Spring, we immediately think of flowers, bunnies, and pastel colors. Over the last few years, Spring has meant a little more to me than just Cadbury chocolates and baby chicks.-Spring means a time of rebirth, rejuvenation, renewal, resurrection, and regrowth.
I like seasons. I like them because it is sort of a picture of our lives. We experience changing seasons in every aspect of our life, and sometimes we have good seasons, and other times we have not so good seasons.-I experienced a long, cold, and hard winter this year, but God assured me that the Spring will come and new life will come, and He was certainly right. Sometimes in the midst of those dark winter days, you just long for the Spring...you long for new life. You yearn for the day that you will be on the other side, but there IS beauty in those cold, hard days...there is beauty even in the darkest days, but we must be willing to listen, to wait, to have faith.-The Lent and Easter season even resemble the changing seasons. A symbol of Christ's 40 days in the wilderness-probably some of the most difficult days of his life which is then followed by the gift of Easter, a symbol of new life.-When those bright, sunny Spring days do arrive, we can look back and know that there was purpose and growth in those dark days. We can look all around us at the way the Earth even proclaims new life through the trees, flowers and animals.
We must be thankful for those dark days, and praise God for them. We must wait for the days that bring new life, and praise God for them. We must learn and grow and praise God! We are promised new life, new mercies, and a new Heaven and Earth.-Thanks be to God.The Lord will guide you continually, giving you water when you are dry and restoring your strength. You will be like a well-watered garden, like an ever-flowing spring. Isaiah 58
